Kids all over the world do experiments and compete for prizes and have a good time. South Effingham Middle School takes part in these events . Doing a science fair project teaches a student “real life” skills. In addition to learning scientific method, doing a science project requires a student to learn some of the same skills needed to carry out any project, such as to plan and build a deck, or to plan and redecorate a home. The science project requires a student to choose a project or field of science, research the background information, make a plan including a time and financial budget, gather materials, tools, and skills needed to carry out the project, execute the project plan within the budgeted time, money and materials, and to observe and evaluate the results or end product.
