A job search engine is a website that facilitates job hunting. These sites range from large scale generalist boards such as Monster.com to niche markets such as engineering, legal, insurance, teaching, and social work.Users can typically deposit their résumés and submit them to potential employers, while employers can post job ads and search for potential employees.Online job sites have grown from approximately 1,000 in 1996 to over 30,000 in 2006. A March 2005 survey conducted by exec2exec.com, a UK-based recruitment site, found that 73% of respondents used the Internet as their primary method of job seeking, compared with only 2% favoring the more traditional and more expensive method of newspapers and journals.
